Iridium Spark Plugs, 1.8

I have an occasional hiccup-type misfire when in the low rev range, accelerating from low in a gear, that type of thing.
Starting with the plugs, l think mine have done approx 10k miles. What are people's opinion on iridium-tipped plugs. Worth the extra expense?

I had a set on my 1.8NA and they were no different to standard plugs.

They do a great job in my V6 ... although I've nothing to compare them with.

Nope, look at NGK BKR6ES gapped at .8mm for NASP and .7mm for turbo models ;)

Very reasonable here:-

If not allowed, please remove. Nothing to do with me by the way!
Plus a bit of info:-

Brian clinches it, stick with standard plugs.

And even more reasonable here: ;)

Well, I've replaced NGK plugs with Iridium plugs in my Blackbird years ago, and it made not a jot of difference. Few years later I changed back and I was amazed that it .... made not a jot of difference!

But then, that's my motorbike and is a fairly bomb-proof vehicle. Don't know about the MG Rovers though, they seem to be a bit more picky.

Let us know if you can tell the difference as mine is due a full service with spark plug replacements.

It is also doing the accelerate, hiccough, accelerate thing, and was told it is a pipe that's come off the turbo. Had that done, the engine died, had that fixed, now the judder is back! I'm hoping it is just the plugs and the wrong gap, and that the "pipe" whatever that is /does has also fallen off again. IF that's what it was.

Worth a check to see if they are fakes ?

I had problems with a motorcycle and it was down to "fake" NGK's.
Mike ;)
