Hello from New Member John
I am a lifetime classic car lover for more that 50 years. I have purchased from an original Rover supplying dealer a 75 Connoisseur SE V6 Auto, registered 20th October 2005. In 2004 I bought new a 75 diesel estate from Souls of Olney as an every day car and loved it but lost the job and the Rover had to go. Going back to my new purchase. I am collecting the 75 next week as the dealer is doing a cam belt change.
The 75 is immaculate one owner with all the bills, hand look, original key rings etc having been serviced at the supplying dealer. The previous owner really looked after the Rover. The chassis number ends 343301 and I would be interested to know where it came in the product cycle. The 75 was garaged from new and I would like to put some 'waxoyl' type of protection underneath but no skills or knowledge in this area. The last car I did rustproofing was when I bought a brand new MGB roadster in 1976 and they used Dinitrol. The MGB body was good for many years. Can anyone recommend a company as well as a garage for servicing. I am in Northampton but happy to travel. I trust i put the post in the correct place. Thanks John |
Welcome aboard, it sounds like your new purchase is a good one, if you send me a private message with your reg number, ill bring up the details of your new car.
And Souls of Olney have one of the best Rover mechanics on their books now, you would be hard pushed to find a better local place for your service. |
Hi John, welcome to the club.
Sounds like you’ve got yourself a lovely car there.........pics would be good, we like pics on here :D There’s a lot of very knowledgable members on here so, you’re in the right place ;) I Waxoyl the underside of my ZTT every year after a good pressure wash and wire brushing. It’s kept it reasonably nice underneath and I live near the coast. I have a small compressor and spray the Waxoyl on with a paraffin gun. Thin the Waxoyl slightly with white spirit. Hope you enjoy your new 75 as much as I do my ZTT :} |
