CDTi Tank Pump Unit

CDTi Tank Pump Unit
This is just a thought.
Would it be worthwhile getting a complete tank unit from a scrap yard and refurbishing it with the unit from mkon.co.uk at my leisure?
Then all I have to do is swap the complete units over hence the car is off the road for less time!
The Connie that I purchased had the ¼ tank problem when I bought it but got money of the purchase price to compensate.

if you can get it cheap yes.alltho i paid a garage to do mine he said it was a bit off a fiddle and ended up stinking of diesel .it took him a couple of hours cost £80

I have still got to find a garage in Norwich that is recommended and convenient.
£80 doesn’t sound too bad!!

i got the pumps both of mine where had it i put the ub in .then my garage fitted the in tank one the problem lies in taking the cage apart to get at the insert break the clips and you have had it.plus the guy had the tool to remove replace the clips holding on the pipes .i read the very good instructions supplied with the pumps but in the end decided to chicken out and get someone else to do it

very stinky job and it is scary unclipping the pump tbh I'd say a professional mechanic (excluding a handful of proper specialists) is unlikely to be patient enough to do it you need to carefully slide something under ALL the clips at the same time one at a time doesn't work they just latch again plus the plastic is very fragile not intended to come apart, you also need to remember how to put the pump back into the tank it's a work of art and it foxed me for a while Heath Robinson has got nothing on MGR with this one!!

I will look into using the pug pump as well but I want to get this sorted before the UB pump says goodbye
