Recommended Belt replacement mechanics Melbourne
Hi Guys, All you Melbourne members, do you have any recommendations for replacing my rover 75 timing belts. Mechanics that is and approximate costing.
I am a new member with a petrol 2001 Rover 75 connoisseur. |

The guys brian mentioned are a good starting point.
I have found alot of mechanics over here seem like they want to dodge anything with a kv6 engine as they dont understand it and possibly the bad experience that many had with the engine when Kia produced their own version of it with all sorts of head gasket issues. Another good place to look is a mechanic is for a landrover mechanic as they used the same motor for some years and will carry alot of the parts. |
Hi Brian and Peter,
Thought I should acknowledge your posts. Rob will be attending to Chris' car. It saddens me to hear that some otherwise good 75 / ZTs are destined to the scrappers (damaged head etc through broken timing belt etc.) when Rob can rebuild them "as good as new". I understand his friend uses ultrasound crack detection equipment to check for possible hairline cracks before Rob rebuilds the engine. A very modest and proficient chap. I understand he calls on some of his his high performance race car technology to anchor cylinder liners to eliminate any possible vibration movement. Cheers, Bruce. |
