MG ZT chip

Hi, I have a 2005 MG ZT 180, runs well (apart from coolant leaks, another story) but I’m wondering if anyone has fitted a chip to enhance performance and economy… keen to hear any details please.

Others will no doubt confirm but i dont think there is any re-map/chip available on a KV6 engine. You can remap the diesels (MR47) to 160 bhp and the 1.8t (k16) to 200 bhp.

The ZT 180 although having the 190 engine had to be detuned slightly as the 190 tune was too harsh for the automatic gearbox ;)

Yes you can tune the KV6 but you're not talking by much which makes it not really a viable option cost-wise as you're only going to gain a few BHP ;)

Far better to ensure your VIS motors are working correctly and possibly adding a K&N type Air filter and less restrictive exhaust.

180 quid for another 12 bhp, hardly worth it.
