Ruddy rodents
 

:mad: Just been out and checked the 97 VVC MGF and was horrified to find that the interior has been destroyed by rodents and they ahve made very quick work of it too as it was not like this just the other week.

It now seems that the only thing we can do is strip the goddies from her and sell off the engine and box then scrap the rest. Because I fitted a MY2000 Walnut/Cream interior back in 2015 with wood steering wheel it was an attractive idea to take it with us and transplant these to an MGF in France but now it's not really worth doing :cry: what a waste.

Have placed a catch trap in her to see if we can catch the culprits.

I had mice in my Cavalier while it was stored. How I got away with minimal damage given the amount of mouse poo in the car I will never know! I had a lot of plush toys on the parcel shelf and I think they took the brunt of the attack. :( I don't know how they even got in it!

I am sorry to read you have had this terrible experience. I heard how they can also eat into the electric cables, sorry but worth a check. We had this problem with the vermin at our flat in north London, spent loads on traps and poisons. It's not funny when it happens. Hope yours does the job.

I am also sorry to hear about this we have the exact same interior in my wife's MGF so we feel your pain

You'll be suprised the gaps they can get through.

When I worked at Nissan our storage area for new and used cars was on a local farm, we regulary found the little bleeders in them. Not nice on a customers brand spanking new car.

I also used to know a car dealer that had his pitch next to a chippy and had half his stock wrecked by rats eating the wiring looms.

I had a members car in last week, went to change the pcv filter and couldnt see the top of the engine as mice had chewed up all the sound insulation from the engine cover... Luckily they had stopped at that, no other damage.http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...d7bac976f2.jpg

From experience. The little blighters love peanuts. Use one as bait on the traps. ;)

I had an "experience" with a fox cub. Blighter chewed through my brake line, ABS sensor, Xenon level sensor and pad sensor (strangely only one of each - was he checking :D). Not allowed to dispatch those, mind.
