Ebay paypal scam
HI guys in case you have not seen the problems with paypal buying.
I just had someone trying to buy my wifes old car and: had contact from a potential buyer, they wanted to pay via paypal. No real problem or so i thought, luckily we are on the ball with online payments. Had email stating money had been placed in our account, but here is the real sad thing to was even extra obvious they over paid. this was supposedly due to a transfer fee. yeah right, This you are supposed to send back the extra to western union as proof of correct recipiant to allow transfer, But here is the twist you send £300 (yeah as if) and the money never arrives to you but it has cost you £300 so your out of pocket, there are some real scum out there to try this:duh:, The other ones floating around paypal is: you send the money back the money gets transfered then they pick up the car or item, then claim it was never picked up, due to ebay/paypal being rather slack they simply refund the money, so you are out of £300 plus no money or item. Just keep yourselves on your toes with big items guys and girls. it didnt work with us :p:but i am sure there are loads out there that sadly do it. |

Would you accept a bank transfer for a sale?
When I viewed my car, I gave the seller the option of me popping round to the nearest bank and withdrawing cash or doing a bank transfer there and then. I didn't press for either. They opted for the transfer and saw the cash hit their account a few moments later. Could they have been at risk if I was a dodgy character? I was under the impression that a transfer like that was not reversible. |
bank transfer is good if you have means of on line banking or can walk into branch.
