24 vs 23mm Anti-Roll-Bar Bushes?

Quick question, Powerflex now list 23 & 24mm anti-roll-bar bushes on their website.

Originally it was just 24mm they sold (which I've fitted). Can anyone tell me the difference?

I assume its a model dependant thing, but i dont know which models have which.

I wish they would do rear ones, over stiffening the front only can result in understeer.

I believe the bigger size was fitted to ZT`s the smaller to 75`s pre project drive

Hi Jack

Many thanks for your enquiry

The only difference is the 1mm size difference in the bore size

This was created due to it being bought to our attention that some vehicles do have a variation in roll bar sizes

The only way to know for sure which size you need is to measure your anti roll bar using a vernier

I hope this helps and if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us

Kind Regards

Having retrofitted MG ARBs to my two 75 tourers, both the roll bars that I fitted to the cars that came from 190s were the larger 24mm and the bars that I removed were 23mm.

But on a more serious note, from Rave:

Anti-roll bar and links
A solid spring steel anti-roll bar is used which operates, via anti-roll bar links, from the spring seat on each strut. The anti-roll bar on KV6 and M47R models is 24 mm (0.95 in) diameter and the bar used on K1.8 models is 23 mm (0.91in).

Also on the rear:

Anti-roll bar and links
A solid spring steel anti-roll bar is used which operates directly from each upper arm. The anti-roll bar on K1.8 models is 18 mm (0.71 in) diameter.

They don't mention the diameter of the rear ARB on V6 and Diesel models.

This change will no doubt be to refine the characteristics of the handling between the different engine variants due to weight, distribution of the weight, centre of gravity etc

Thanks for the clarification - it looks like I have the right one fitted!

...by dumb luck...

Glad to be of assistance, might be worth a quick reply to them with the same information so they can add it to their records and help guide others in the future?

I've forwarded the information on to them - I'd no idea such a thing was listed in RAVE. Could you let me know whereabouts you found it please?

EDIT - Obviously I have access to RAVE.
