R75 diesel coolant lost when weather cold
Hello Everyone!
I just noticed my coolant is leaking somewhere near the waterpump, when the weather is below/near 0°C. It leaks about 1-3 dl than stops(depending on temperature). Can anyone give me some hints why its only leaking when cold? Thank you |
The thermostat seal is the bit that often starts to leak on a diesel it's just on side of water pump

As is the O ring that seals the small coolant pipe in the thermostat housing, which is also a common leak point.

It probably stops leaking as it warms up and the expansion closes the small gap that it's leaking from.
