Emergency boot release - Saloon
Right, pretty sure I’m just being dense.
Checked out the rattle in my boot when it opened and shut to find the emergency release lever was separated from the surround. Fished it out and thought it would likely just clip into the surround but I can’t seen how they would go together, the lever part is too long to sit in between the locating lugs on the surround. How should they secure in place, am I missing any parts or just missing the obvious?! The lever does look to have broken lugs around it but even then I can’t see where it would go. https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...5d8d0cff4d.jpg |
I have no real idea, does the bit with the cable sit behind the boot lining and the other bit sit in front?

The outer part was always sitting loose in the boot lid trim so I now think there should be something or the inside it clips into to be secure and the lever can then in turn clip onto that?!? |

Better images of the emergency release this time. There are only two pieces; the bezel and the cable with a tabbed end that clicks into place from outside.

Thanks for that, I think I have the wrong outer piece. Looking at yours the corners of the aperture are more rounded whereas mine are more squared. That could explain why I can’t get the lever part to mate with it!?! I can’t see a way of physically getting the two parts to clip together as the lugs on the back of the outer bezel are in the way.

Excuse me folks. Where actually in the boot can this release lever be found ???
I only seem to have the remote release to the right of my feet or the ignition key to open the boot. |

Sorry, there are 3 parts!
The cable plus inner and outer bezels. The outer one has the larger hole; the inner one goes behind the trim. https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...1&d=1594298105 |
