fuel pump fuse blowing
 

my fuel pump fuse keeps blowing any ideas please had aa man out fuse kept blowing not sure what it can be maybe fuel pump gone or short any ideas

If this is a continuation from your previous thread that I commented on then I would suggest it’s most likely to be a faulty fuel pump under the bonnet, giving issues, you could test the under bonnet pump independently by sending a direct feed to it and removing the connector at the fuel filter and using a Coke bottle to test for flow, you would be looking for a nice steady flow with no air or foaming.

thankyou mate for reply it is the original pump so will change it hopefully this sorts out the fault

do you know the location of the fuel pump fuse on the fuse box and amp of fuse I think its 28a and 30amp just wanted to check thankyou in advance

To give you the right answer it would be helpful to know whether you're asking about your diesel or your petrol car and whether it has the original fuse box design or the later one.

There are two fuses in the fuel pump relay circuit. The lower rated supplies the coil and the higher rated supplies the contacts.

For the earlier fusebox, the 10 amp fuse illustrated (F34) supplies the relay coil only. F20 (not illustrated) supplies the pump(s) and is the fuse which is likely to blow in the event of a fault. This is located second from the left in the same row as F34 and, as you can see, a 30 amp fuse is fitted.

In the later fusebox it's F10 (10 amps) and F28 (30 amps) respectively.
