Eeek! Fan stuck on spindle
http://i1054.photobucket.com/albums/...ps02fe214b.jpg
Any ideas on how to get the fan off the spindle? It is stuck fast, and I can't remember which way it unscrews. I've managed in the past to get one off and on without breaking the lugs! |
If you're removing the fan blade then it's a matter of holding the centre nut with a socket and rotate turn the fan blade clockwise a small amount , viewed from the front of course.

Turn the fan over so you can see the nut, use a 15mm thin wall socket on the nut. Hold the fan still and turn the nut anti clockwise :) or the fan clockwise

Hmm, well it ain't happening folks - the socket broke...

Open the single malt

Good idea!

It can only be corrosion between the metal spindle locators and the plastic blade or glue if 'fixed' before :) Chris |
Socket.
I can only think it must have been cracked before- plastic should break before metal! Trip to hardware store next to work tomorrow... |
Better luck tomorrow then ! .. spray some penetrating oil around the nut as may well help if left over night.
