Kiwi Rover Owners

Any other Kiwi's on this forum?

GreyGhost 19th May 2007 08:35

There are a few, so hopefully they will be along to say hello. :)

Hi Graham, greetings from one nz 75 owner to another. We live in Eastbourne, where are you?

Kiwirover 12th June 2007 21:59

Hi John - I live in Belmont. Good to hear another local voice. All the others on this forum seem to have funny accents: lol:

I have "met" with Webted who is over in Blenheim and believe there is another in Rotorua but haven’t tied up with him as yet. I am sure there are more.

I think I may have seen you around – there’s not that many 75’s in town so you do tend to notice them. Is your car powder blue or a dark blue?
I have seen about 6 different cars over the last month or so, but whether they are local I don’t know.
There was a dark blue ex BMW demonstrator for sale in the Hutt a few weeks ago but I don’t know where it went to.

How long have you had yours and what issues if any, have you had to deal with.

I am currently working with the local agent (Hutt Subaru) to try and sort out some alarm issues, along with the usual leaking thermostat housing. It’s booked in next week to get those sorted and to get my new second key coded. Apart from that it’s been excellent.
If I can be of any assistance, swap notes etc, let me know.

Graham/John

I spent 4 lovely years in Christchurch - didn't see any 75s there - although that was before they started rolling off the production lines over here ... ;)

I have very close friends living in Belmont and if I visit them in NZ I will look you and your fab motor up! ;)

Hi Christopher - That’s Belmont, Lower Hutt as opposed to Belmont, Auckland or Christchurch.
Drop me a line if you are coming out this way. It would be great to meet.

P.S. Today in a moment of sheer stupidity I managed to have my first accident in 20 years. The R/H front corner of my Rover 827 is now a little worse for wear :sad3:
The damage is not too bad, bumper, indicator housing, and some paint on the guard, but it will be off the road for a little whiles at the panel beater.

This of course means that I will just have to use the 75 instead - what a shame :D

Hi Graham
I bought our dark blue 1999 75 privately in Lower Hutt approximately a month ago. It was originally owned by BMW Financial Services, so could be the same car you mentioned. The car now has 70,000 kms on the clock. Just had the thermostat housing replaced by Amsterdam Cars in Lower Hutt, excellent and reasonable service, the problem was picked up in the AA report and the cost was allowed for in the purchase price. Got the parts from Newmarket European in Auckland, again excellent and prompt service. The 75 joins a fleet of rovers, eg, 1962 P4 100, 1970 2000TC, 1973 P5B Coupe & 1990 827 Vitesse. Studip boy. Our tel no 562-8321 if you feel like a chat. Thanks for the prompt response, this is a great web site, certainly gives you some confidence in owning a 75 in remote NZ.

Hi Graham,
I'm in Christchurch and my wife and I both have 75's. Her's a 2000 2.0V6 and mine's a 2005 2.5 Conn. We love them both. There are a few down here, mainly 1999 - 2001 2.0 imports. I've looked at many of them and by and large they're in good nick. Ours have done 103,000kms and 18,000kms respectively.
Great to see that there are a few other Kiwi fans!
Regards,
Roger.
