He is an individual who's opinion of himself as a painter far outstrips his actual abilities.

This character had Rick's car for four months, and did all of the actual prep and painting in two weeks, making mistake after mistake causing me to cringe.

The man is called Dave Lucas hiis forum persona was cazemi, and has a unit in Brunswick village, full of equipment he has neither paid for nor owns, and "trades" on facebook as Devilpaint.

He is nothing short of a thief and I'm ashamed to say I was taken in by his rhetoric and "pally pally" demeanour, and it was I that recommended his services to Rick in the first place, much to my no chagrin, based upon motorcycle paintwork he'd carried out.

The man owes me thousands of pounds, and has no intention of paying, in short he's a charlatan and shark.

I hope that is a realistic and reasonable assessment of the "painter" for you Jon ;)

I hope you at least get your equipment back from the unit Brian. He clearly can be capable of doing good work we both had seen examples of good work he'd done in the past. But with mine and others I've heard about since he clearly had a can't be bothered attitude.

If it was a proper business I would have been perusing him for my money back after I got the car back in a worse state the second time than I did the first time, but with him there was no point as you've found yourself there's no chance of getting any money back out of him. And wasn't ever going to take the car back to him again to sort it for a third time, wouldn't have him within a 100 miles of it again!

He seems to have disappeared off facebook, his profile doesn't show up no more neither does his "business" page.

But at least it's all done now and it's good enough now that Daniel has worked a miracle to fix Dave's bodges.

I guess you come across these kind of people that screw you over now and again, but ah well never let it get to me and now the car is sorted I can enjoy it.

Now the pièce de résistance of this gorgeous makeover...........I couldn't hold the phone still for laughing...........the birdshat painted over on the roof.

It seems you are only as good as your last job in the paintwork world, and I don't think the landlord was impressed in lieu of three months rent the "finished" article :getmecoat:

I'm taking great solace that the man who took advantage of my good nature to con me out of thousands, is being given his marching orders :D
