Synergy tuning box

Just wondered if anyone on here has used or is using one?

Worth the money and the extra insurance or cause more problems than they're worth?

Also, is anyone selling one at all?

They damage the high pressure pump, and I wouldn't have one given ;)

No, no , yes

Get a 160 map from one of the T4 guys. Far better.

not all insurance companies will insure but Brokers Adrian Flux can sort you out.
I have a CDT, a remap is well worth the extra, I also have a CDTI and without the caravan on the back, I don't see the need for a remap.

Even with a remap, the CDT wont win any races but it certainly is a far better car to drive and I would recommend the remap.

Thanks rogue, in what way is a 160 map better?

Just asking as I've been after one for a while but no one near me does them, have been warned off them by at least three people but then also the synergy box too.

I get that the box basically overdrives the fuel pump so possibly not great, but also the T4 upgrade is permanent and a PITA to get hold of unless I strip ECUs out and send them off.

I've run a few insurance quotes with a modified/chipped engine ECU as mine runs out end of July and it's only around £40-£50 more than my renewal quote with no box fitted.

So if mines a 135 already it doesn't really give much more torque or anything? I'm not expecting an F1 car but a bit more horses and torque sounds like it would be nice, was hoping it'd make it behave or feel a bit more like the old VAG group PD engines?

I think you will find that you will get a noticeable improvement in driveability. Torque is better and i've noticed no difference in economy. I think Marinabrian still offers a postal service for mapping so might be worth giving him a shout.

Thanks rogue, I've discussed with him before but the car is my daily, he lives bleddy miles away too :)

Just to check, my local MG garage doesn't do or recommend T4 remaps, is the closest to Devon with a T4 who does the guy in Portsmouth?
