Diesel Fuel Injector Change.

Hi all,

I've got a faulty fuel injector on my Diesel which I hope I'll be replacing this weekend if everything goes ok.
I was just wondering if anyone has and tips or anything to watch out for please?

Many thanks in advance.

Richard

Warm the engine up first! Undo the injector clamp but leave the feed pipe on at the injector end, use this to wiggle the injector while pulling upwards.

I have never done the job and would like to see how difficult it is. If you want some moral support PM me and I will give you a hand.
Think I'm free both Saturday and Sunday

Squirt some Plusgas into the well around the top if the injector a couple of days ahead of when you will be removing it, so that it soaks down and loosens any corrosion that might cause the injector to get stuck.

They can get seized I have had to use a slide hammer to get them out ,
As said in an earlier post as a pre prep , keep spraying with penetrating oil round the injector sleeves for a few days prior .

OK.

Many thanks one and all.
I don't have a slide hammer, so I think it'll be a case of gently does it, of no so, then see who can help!

I'll let you all know what happens.
It's a job for Saturday.

Providing you go gently, you just put it back together until you sort out some tooling . Most members find they come out no problem . but its just something to be aware of ! I'm sure all will be fine

I did my first one a couple of years ago by following Arctic's "How to"

And yes, it was a bit of a pain, but it came out without too much persuasion. No slide hammer needed.

Good Luck.
