Looking for: cruise control switch on clutch pedal
I'm looking for the cruise control switch that sits on top of the clutch pedal of my 2001 75 Tourer 2.0 CDT. Any of you that can help me with this? Rimmer Bros doesn't stock them anymore.
Thanks, Markwin |
Why are you looking for one? Reason I ask is never heard of a faulty one, only a badly adjusted one which is common, especially after a clutch change.
One of the breakers ought to be able to help. |
Most of the time the switch just needs pushing back together! As it can have a habit of becoming de-tached! Particulary after a clutch change as has already been posted!
|
As said never heard of a failure.
The way to tell, is when your driving. Activate cruise control. Then put your foot under the clutch and lift the pedal up with your toes. Then press the cruise set button. This is a fault I had with mine. Hope it helps ;) |
Remove the Pedal trim (two Pozidrive screws & 2 Plastic thumbwheels).
Follow the clutch pedal right to the top (contortionist skills required or use a torch & mirror) Locate the small white block (proximity switch) and click it backwards towards you. Never known one to fail.;) Good luck |
Thanks guys. I'll check it out again. It is true that I can get the switch to work by putting my foot under the clutch pedal and lift it. However, this works once every time, so every time I want to activate the cruise I have to do this. Does this tell anything about the condition of the switch?
My brother, who owns a garage, told me the switch was faulty: he tolld me that the switch has some jagged edges (like small 'teeth') and that they had worn out. |
