End of UK road signs by 2027
Looks like the infrastructure for self driving cars is about to be implemented
"The report by Zenzic, an organisation “dedicated to accelerating the self-driving revolution in the UK by uniting industry, government and academia”, states that emerging CAM (connected and automated mobility) technologies will eliminate the need for road signage, with UK drivers seeing “naked highways” by 2027." Naked highways! Oh er missus! https://www.fleetnews.co.uk/news/lat...27-says-report |
there will still be a lot of manually driven cars in 2027 as well as cyclists and pedestrians and so I suggest signs will still be needed

Road signs, That reminded me of a recent traffic cops episode where an elderly gent was stopped for erratic driving. he was asked if he could read the traffic sign and he said: "Sure no problem it is an O or maybe a C." The cop replied "Your looking at the roundabout sign......"
Needless to say the old chap hung up his keys on advice from his son. |
Most won't notice any difference as they totally ignore the road signs already.--:laughing2::hurt2::hurt2:

I agree but will the powers that be let us use the same piece of tarmac as the new world order vehicles! :D |

Road signs and traffic lights mean absolutely nothing in these parts either. |
Looks like all car manufacturers are getting in on this new digital connection infrastructure to get in on the future revenue streams that they will bring. https://www.forbes.com/sites/sarwant...t#713ba4b32cb1

Beam Me Up Scotty.------:p: PS. As nobody seems to be able to accurately predict the future it will probably be nothing like Mr Singh's version. |

Not too sure! I've been doing some more reading on this digital infrastructure malarkey & it was trialled in France & Germany by PSA & VAG back in 2017. VW are well on their way to installing half a million of these V2X chips in their 8 series golf alone this year. V2G chips are in Chinese cars by the tens of millions  Now that 5G is upon us it could mean the Chinese with their 5G technology will be in charge of every traffic light, speed camera, intersection & street corner in the country soon.:D:getmecoat: |
Ey up! looks like Scotland is earmarked to be the guinea pig in all this digital connectivity :D https://www.transport-network.co.uk/...ary-says/16285
