Just saw this listed on eBay too at £20K. A lovely car but.... My search continues.

Some lovely cars in that auction. First time I have seen 2 Lotus Europa’s up for auction. Seen my “want” but I can only dream.

The Europa is the Lotus l would buy & there seems to be no less than seven up for auction now which is astounding.

I struggled getting out of my Europa when I was in my 30’s, now in my 60’s no chance.
Mind, it was always fun watching members of the fairer sex try to get over that very wide sill in a tight skirt! ;)

A friend bought a JPS livery Twin-Cam Europa back in 1975. 6'4" Canadian with lumberjack build. Reckoned it was best to start off lying flat out on the "sidewalk" and patiently work in from there. Claimed that once in, it was an acceptable, if snug, driving position. My 1966 Elan was much more of problem for him in fact.

The Rover 75 V8 'hammer' price was £17,000, and only a provisional sale, but later in the afternoon was shown on the site as being sold for £19,244. I think that is probably £17k + buyer's fees + VAT on the fees anyway.

About time these are fantastic cars and if maintained and looked after like mine are, they are as good if not better than many modern cars.
