Keep A Penknife Handy - You Never Know

Some of us may never need it, but a penknife can prove handy at times.......

Surely, a mini hacksaw kept in the pocket would be more useful - possibility of escape Mad Max style! :}

I've carried a pocket knife for the past 5 years or so, it's amazing how often it comes in handy. Although never for anything anywhere near as drastic as that though! :eek:

For PC reasons I must state it is under 3 inches long - the knife that is - and isn't a lock knife

I too carry a knife. Total length under 3” (2.5 actually) and have done for years. Used to trade in antiques (Georgian furniture) and occasionally came across items that were easily collectable. My collection is, er, extensive with a favourite, below, that has never been used but is very useful if you know what I mean. A bone-handled silver Corn knife with the maker’s name Barret & Sons of Picadilly, circa 1900. Not much use for a leg, but should a tracheotomy become a necessity....

Well I have heard it's a cut-throat business.

there was a case some years ago, made into a film where someone had their arm caught by a rock and had to cut his arm off.

127 Hours! he was stuck there for that time, alone in a canyon, with no-one knowing where he was. An inspirational story.

The perils of "going it alone".
