Threads Wrecked By Photo Bucket. !!!!!

I think as most of us know by now the photo bucket are holding us and every person whom uses PB to show their photo's in forums to ransom, it is either pay up or you can not use your own photo's on the club forums.

Quite a lot of the how to's or even photo's shown for example etc are not accessible if you have a free account with them, therefore I thought it could be a good idea as and when members come across such threads that have been decimated by PB that a link could be added here.

Hopefully then the authors can try and do something about it, by replacing the photo using another photo image company I use ( https://imgur.com/ ) which is quite good.

I noted today that Reebs check your trim as been affected badly.

So as the project drive thread

Therefore if any members do come across any of my photo's or threads please add a link here and I will try and rectify it for us, at least if we have one thread with the links added it will be easy for the author to find and hopefully put them back as was cheers Arctic

I know it is a big task but on another Forum I belong too the manager has spent endless hours getting photos from Photobucket on to the forum. Not sure how he achieved it all seems to be back in order.

Hi Mike.
I too managed to gain access yesterday and deleted both my accounts with them, which when I read it properly does not completely happen until about a month later, I suppose they are hoping you will change your mind

Great idea Steve :} it will certainly make things a bit easier.

I myself dont really use PB, I have a free account with them but haven't used it in years. I do however upload any car related pics to the Club's server, or when creating a 'How To' or when 'Inserting' an image/photo to a Post/thread.

It seems to work well for now.

I've just deleted my account too. They will be hit hard over this "holding folks to ransom"!

My free PB account is still intact apart from the wretched adverts on it

Reebs 9th July 2017 18:12

I still have access to my account, so I'm in the process of transferring my how to and guide pictures onto the club servers for a more permanent solution, but you'll appreciate it is a massive task so is taking time as I do it as and when I can.

The easiest way to do it, and yes it's time consuming, is to upload the relevant image to tinypic.com then edit the post replacing only the actual link in the picture link ie the bolded bit< img src = http:photobucket.uselessrobbers >

I feel a new HowTo coming on.
