Rover 75 Cdt 1999 For Sale

Hi, it pains me to do this but im having to sell my rover 75 cdt, its not running at the mo due to a wiring fault that i can't fix and can't afford to take it to another
garage !!! this car had this problem with the last owner and he had a new ECU fitted 2 months before i bought it last summer, it went great for me for 5 months with know problems till late november it just would not start ? i put new cam and crank sensors on it and checked the fuel pumps, ive had it at 2 garages and they both said it is a wiring fault but they wouldn't fix it ?? they said the ECU is ok. its in good condition for a 1999 and the engine is exellent with only 117.000 miles on it. i paid £2600 for it but im open to good offers !!! you can PM me thanks. Tony.:(

Hi, thats a good question !! i paid £2.500 for it last summer, i would like somewhere around £1.600, i think someone who's good with electrics would probably sort it ?

Well don't give it away.

A pity you can't bring it down here if it is a wiring fault it should be easy to fix.

Garages hate this kind of fault as their hourly rates make lengthy fault finding prohibitively expensive.

I wonder if he could get AA or RAC to recover it to your "garage" Keith?

tony g 15th January 2007 21:47

Thanks guy's, i wish i could get it down to you Keith, i went to see a garage today about 10 miles from me and he said he would look at it in a week or two !!!! i told him the story with the car and it didn't put him off !!! so that sounds hopefull ??? i really don't want to sell it but its sitting on my garden looking sorry for its self !! have you heard of any problem's with wiring on cdt's before Keith ?

Tony, have you had it to a garage with testbook.
the reason I ask is that mine wouldnt start and it was down to a flooded immobiliser

tony g 18th January 2007 17:23

Hi moodyblue, i had it at a diesel garage and they said it was comming up with loads of fault codes ?? which was strange they said !! it must be just a dodgy wire or wires somewhere ?? its just finding the piging thing !!!!! im hopeing this other garage im going to take it to ( in a week or 2 ) will sort it ? i hope . because i don't realy want to sell it i love the car.
