Don't insurance companies tell you not to admit liability?

macafee2 27th July 2019 07:56

Could not have managed that if you had tried. Any more damage done when getting the cars apart.

Hope you manage to get it sorted to your satisfaction, good luck

I feel for you!

Almost worth not going through the insurance for the amount both your policies will probably go up in the next few years.

I hate the way insurance goes up after not my fault accident.

You were involved in an incident are well here is a nice big bill for you...

Definitely don't let them take your car away.

As for who's fault it was he has no place to go. Will be all on my CCTV.
His insurance company have not said that they will scrap my car. Told him it will more than likely it will be classed as a written off. By my insurance.
As of this morning sounds as if his car will also be written off. Needs 4 doors plus what ever is found. Feel sorry for him lovely bloke and he really was gutted.
But see what the insurance say when they start .

I have always wondered about the fact your insurance goes up when it was the other persons fault. Could that not be classed as uninsured loss’? Therefor recoverable through the other persons insurance?

Steve42 27th July 2019 20:13

I should be ok with the insurance. Full protected no claims.
And will have to read the small print. But if I was not to blame it will not count against me.

Bet it does though

No that will be classed as an industry not fit for purpose given legal authority to screw the innocent guy over, simple, where is common sense here, the guy looses control of a vehicle in his care, the vehicle rolls down the street and crashes into another vehicle and damages it, ( by the grace of God, it doesn't kill anybody on the way) so the common sense thing here is that the car is repaired to exactly as it was before. Then the other guy's insurance pays for it, they then sort out the consequences between them, you the victim here has no involvement at all, incurs no costs, what ever, and is fully compensated as required.
That is what should happen in a fair reasonable and logical world, instead in a world run by money hungry leeches the innocent is screwed, all done in a legal way, you got to give to them its just brilliant.

Apparently, statistically, you are more likely to have another collision. But I too have wondered why you cannot claim for increased premiums, except maybe they cannot predict how it will affect your policy in the future.

Full protected no claims here too, and it does remain fully protected after, however, having a protected NCB, does not protect your policy going up.:mad:

I am sorry you have had to deal with this. Unfortunately, you will be declaring it for the next 3-5 years (depending on the company). With my bump, I had to declare it each year for 3 years. Going by compare sites, the price on my policy was affected by 10% on the cheapest policy. You should inform your own insurance company of the situation as a 'for your information' only status.

Pass I think the same. But he was told that by his insurance.
Mine not been informed as yet . But you know what insurance people are like . Has the name rover on so its written off before you start.
I will fight it if that's what they say.
