same old story parking sensor help 75 tourer
hi all,
thanks for taking the time to even bother looking at this age old problem. im on my second 75 now running a diesel 52 plate tourer. she has parking sensors which you guessed it don't work. now I know the switch on the gearbox is a go to fix normally, but when I put the car into reverse more times than not the car gives off the sound to say the sensors are engaged. but after that they don't do anything at all? any ideas? thanks again |
What happens? One continuous beeb I guess

Why not with a friend, have a friend put it in reverse and then bend down near each sensor with your ear cupped over each sensor, sensors that are working should be making a faint clicking sound, if you find one is not making a clicking sound that’s the faulty one

so done as you suggested all but one are working? what does this mean? I thought id get some response from at least 3?

If only one is buzzing as it should then I’d suggest it’s probably three sensors at fault or possibly the loom, if you need a loom or sensors just give me a shout

hi mick sorry must of misunderstood me. 3 of 4 are clicking its the one on the far left that isn't?

Hi mate, if one of the sensors isn't ticking, that's definetely the fault, in my case, I bought all 4 new, buy the BMW E39 ones, which are basically the exact same ones but only differently branded, you can find all 4 new on ebay for 15-20 pounds (I paid 15 for them), installed them, work a treat. You can also paint them which doesn't disturb their functionality

A Cisbo kit off eBay ends all the problems, well, it did for me;)
