Oil from dip stick hole
On the positive side I now have two of my three 75’s through MOT recently :-
• Petrol Tourer failed on degraded rear number plate – never knew this could happen! Easily replaced so now ok • Diesel Saloon failed on emissions level – a short , hard drive cleared that and it then passed. • Third car is SORN – I have to get a clutch / gear problem sorted – and I will. Had a new clutch not many miles ago so might need new Master Cylinder . The issue I want to raise is on the Diesel Saloon. Whilst MOT testing it the engineers say they pulled out the dip stick and were surprised to find oil spurting up. Not sure this would surprise me but are they picking up on a problem I am not aware of and what might it be ? |
You could have excessive pressure in the crankcase.
Have you checked your PCV filter? This is often overlooked because it was missed off the maintenance schedule for the M47R engine. :duh: When I first got my diesel, I did a service on it. Items such as the air filter, pollen filter were quite clean. However the PCV filter was totally clogged up. I doubt that it had ever been changed! |
:iagree: :wot: :iagree: Yes sounds like a blocked PCV separator.
