Diesel lower engine mount query
 

I'm hoping a perished lower engine mount is my vibration problem when pulling away from stationary. I can see the old mount has splits in it.

The old and new mount has a T on the rubber, is the mount handed?
I know big end to the rear.

i had the same problem and mine was worse going up big hills in low gear i purchased an original rover part for about 40 quid .both bushes had split causing vibration it sorted it out rgds mark

It will certainly fit either way around, so I don't think there is a specific top or bottom. I hope your vibration does not turn out to be what mine was, - clutch driven plate down to the rivets. I replaced my bottom mount (cracks in rubber) but it didn't improve it. One side of the clutch friction material was down to 1.5 mm, and was floating free as the rivet heads on that side were gone! And yet once you got moving, it would change gear fine, and accelerate normally with no vibration, only slipping a little in top gear if you pressed hard on the loud pedal!

thanks. clutch should be ok, all replaced last year. I'm a bit concerned it could be the DMF.
