Bonnet Struts
Fitted some new bonnet struts from SGS to my Lagoon today and the difference is amazing . I knew the old ones were getting a little "tired", but hadn't realised just how bad they were.
With the old ones, I had to lift the bonnet to around 90% of it's opening height before the struts would take effect, and just the lightest touch was required to close it. With the new ones, it very nearly opens itself (slight exaggeration but only slight!), and requires a positive effort to close it rather than just dropping from 6 - 8 inches. Fitting was a doddle, but I just had to spray them Lagoon first! :o. Cliff |
I have these on my wanted list, glad to know they are ok,.

Photos came out rubbish  so I made a (very!) short video that also shows how easily the bonnet now lifts.

I intend getting these struts for both the bonnet and boot. I have been told they are very, very good.

for us lazy people could you add the product code of the bonnet struts, and any of the others you know, boot and tailgate :)
thank you macafee21 |

I did enquire about getting some stainless ones made up, but after much measuring and e-mailing they said they wouldn't be able to make them to fit. Still, a coat of paint looks nice and is cheaper in any case :} Cliff |
