2020 Meets Postponed
 

Hi All,

Initially thought of having a meet at the Ugly Duckling 11th Oct. May have moved it to 24th October to accommodate Peter Baker. I know we can have Brekkie on tables of 4 or 6.
However, provided we do not all gather together outside we should get away with it. We usually stand and chat in groups of 4 or less. Spoke to Shiner recently who urged postponement. He spoke to Pete OC Director. Who provided the unarguable statement below.

• "England presently expressly forbids clubs and associations to hold typical meets.

In addition to the above, local restrictions are also in place in different parts of the country, which can affect the above guidelines.

Our meets potentially could put club members at risk of infection and as Organiser I am at at risk of being fined £10K.
Therefore for these reasons regional meets are postponed."

So there we have it. Blown out of the water. Vaccine urgently required.
Roll on 2021 when we may be able to resume meets.

A shame, but entirely understandable in the current climate. There'll be plenty of opportunities for meets in the new year (I hope!) without running the risk of infections or fines.

Mind you, if you did cop a £10K fine, I'm sure one of us would treat you to a free brekkie to compensate, so it wouldn't be all bad :getmecoat:
