ZT-T Leak from tailgate hinge

Well, I think that's where it's coming from.....

I have damp patches on the load compartment cover. It appears that they line up with the tailgate hinges, rather than the ones for the opening glass.

Is this a known issue? Are there any drains I need to unblock?

had the same on mine very moist around the load area.changed the main boot seal now as dry as the desert.

Tim, I had the same problem with mine. luckily a good wipe round the rubber with a rag and fairy liquid did the trick (softened the rubber and had a "stickiness" for a good seal).

Hi Tim,I have fitted a new main seal and tried various lubricants to help make a good seal and have found the best way is just to give up and put some kitchen roll on the load cover.:}

Hi Tim. I tried everything to stop mine. Checked all the seals, pulled off the plastic trim around the tailgate hinges and resealed the plastic retainers, everything I could think of.

In the end, I'm 99% certain it was the area as pictured in the last post in this thread ( picture can be enlarged ).

The area where the roof and tailend area join, there is a small gap behind the hinge, which appears higher than where the water is flowing to, but put as much sealant as I could get in there, and haven't had a problem since.

Hope you get it sorted. :}

My ZTT does the same. I think it is caused by the plastic hinge cover pushing on the rubber and water runs in through the gap between the two. I put a new rubber seal on and it made no difference.

I may try moving the hinge cover or bend the metal lip that holds the rubber seal on.

A hand towel on the load cover will suffice for now as it is only one or two drips in a heavy shower when it does it!!
