gear box removal do i need

quick question and hopefully the last one.
I have the sub frame removed. Do I need to tilt the engine down on the near side, to remove the gear box or is there enough space to slide gear box off engine and then lower without hitting the chassis?
I have a jack and a bit of wood under engine to support it once I remove the near side gearbox/engine mount

thank you

You need to lower the engine on the near side so that the box will clear the inner wing as it comes off. Do not lower the power unit too far, as this stresses the hydramount, and always support the engine during and after the lowering exercise. Good luck Pete

a video on youtube says 4 inches at the nearside mount

I think you also need to remove the exhaust or it will stop the gearbox from dropping.
If so, remember to take the oxygen sensor off the manifold first to prevent it ripping a gash in the radiator ;)

Ian is replacaing the clutch on a stone crusher, so no oxygen sensor to worry about. :}
