Air Con Question

Does any member recommend a mobile air con engineer around Studley Warwickshire?
I had me air con regassed last year and have no joy this year.
Would like someone who knows our cars to have a looksee.
Is it a simple regas or is it something else?

Check your condenser, had the same with mine last year, had to replace the condenser due to it being rotten awayhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...7f90fe365d.jpg

If you haven't been running it periodically Al then you'll have lost your gas to the atmosphere. :o

  1. Open the bonnet and identify the compressor. On your diesel I believe it's underneath the alternator. It's driven by a ribbed belt around a pulley.
  2. Start the engine and select 'Econ' on the heater/AC control panel. Observe the ribbed belt rotating the outside of the compressor pulley. Notice that the inside (a circular plate) is stationary. This is the compressor clutch.
  3. Now press the windscreen demist button on the control panel and look at the circular plate (the compressor clutch) again. Is it rotating now?

If you're having difficulty, I'm sure that Arctic will have a photograph of it!

Try Adrad in your browser. £205. The pipe that comes out the top of the condenser is welded in now. No o-rings needed. Much cheaper than Rimmer Bros.

Well it's been done.
Had the system flushed, pressure tested and recharged.
Everything is working fine.
BUT
The man suggested that if this time next year the air con is not working that it may be a slow leak.
If this is the case would I correct in assuming this is a specialist job?
If that's the case what cost am I looking at?
ALL suggestions WILL be gratefully received.
