Assuming the smoke was an acute problem and none of the breather pipes are broken here's what I think. I'd guess this is a Mark 1 model with 50K or more on the clock. The fan motor has probably failed due to wear in the brushes/commutator. The smoke was likely to be its death throes.
The usual solution is a new fan motor (expensive), or a Kenlowe replacement fan system (less expensive). You could try the rewiring dodge to get the fan going on two speeds instead of three, but I suspect the motor's beyond recovery frankly. TC |
Thanks mate any idea where i can get a kenlowe fan system?

I understand Rimmers or Xpart were selling them when the OEMs were in short supply. Further details on the task will be found here: http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ad.php?t=10867 TC |
