'soft' indicator stalk !!!

Noticed today that the end of my indicator stalk is all soft and 'crumbly' ! The car is always a little damp inside at this time of the year - not because it leaks but through condensation and I think this why the stalk has gone soft - used to have a similar problem in a Metro (!) years ago. Trouble is, taking two large dogs to the park / woods everyday means that with the heavy breathing on the way back (the dogs, not me ;) ) the interior gets pretty steamed up and the load bay (covered in old carpet!) a little damp hence the condensation forming overnight.

That sounds like you would need a new switch.

Are you sure it has not been caused by a solvent? I would not have thought damp air would make hard plastic go like that??

Thought mine was the same just after I bought it. Turned out to be a build-up of (grease and dirt?) that a good clean with detergent removed completely.

you sure you're not accidentally reaching for that stick of kitkat, eyes on road ahead and all that? ;)
