CD 80 info please

I have Been asked for some info
owner (not a member yet) has an accident damaged 2003 CDT Classic Tourer with a CD80? (at least that's what I think it said on it) radio, he needs to disconnect the battery to do some welding but does not have a manual and want to clear or set the radio code first

how does he do that and if set does he need to know the previous code first?

thanks

-Switch on as normal depressing l/h rotary knob, four digit (0000) display appears.
-depress square button #1 until the 1st digit of the code appears.
-depress square shaped button #2, repeat etc for 3 & 4.
-Once four digit code entered depress r/h rotary knob centre once.

I have a scanned copy of the excerpt from the owners handbook in PDF fomat 1 page, however I do not know how to reduce the PDF file size enough to be able to upload onto the forum.

Some of them may come with the number already built in. I didn't get a number with my CD-80 and asked the garage who gave me it. But when I re-connected the unit, the number came up on the screen. You might be lucky.

I have heard (Iv'e read it somewhere too but I cannot recall the source) that when you installed a brand new unit the code would be allowed once without having to enter it. Any power downs after that and the code needs to be entered physically. This may have been a feature that aided the factory during installation.
