Kv6 Crankshaft/camshaft sensor change

Hello

Are these two sensors easy to change, as my starting problems seem to have returned,
Starts ok most of the time,
But now and then just cranks engine without firing.
It mostly starts in the end, or after a couple of hours.
Have tightened petrol filter, Waiting for clip.
Thanks

John

From my experience, the cam sensor is a doddle to change, as my 190 threw a strop each time I went shopping and came back to a non-starting ZT. After a short time it would start and drive perfectly, but no good when you simply want to get going! The fault was traced using my VT-4 supplied by PhilT-4.
Replacement cam sensor fixed that problem.
Crank sensor is a bit more difficult to do, but seen one done at the roadside in about 10 minutes flat, but the guy was a show-off. His car broke down outside my place, but he knew the problem was looming so had the sensor and kit to change it in an emergency situation.
The diesel cam sensors are fairly easy once you have the cover off, but the crank sensor is a bit more hidden and more confined area to work in.

Hope this helps.

Kv6 Crankshaft/camshaft sensor change

Hello again.

Sorted non starting KV6 now,
It was camshaft sensor not working sometimes when engine was hot.
Can freezer will help, if you spray sensor with freezer, it started straight away.
Local garage confirmed it was the problem, with their tester.
So fixed now, till next thing crops up lol

Kind regards

John
