Handing a car in as P/X with no head unit.
Guys, I'm leaving the (MG) building!
- I'm using my ZT as P/X against a new car. - I have Sean's DD unit and want to sell it as it's worth a few quid. - I put this cars fascia and OEM head unit on the ZT I had previously sold. If I hand them the car with no head unit, are they likely to care/cancel/ask for more money from me? NB. They haven't seen the car - their valuation is based on beating a neighbouring dealership. Thanks all |

Since they've not seen the car, I'd say just take it out. That said, you can get Harmony Radios from 75s for just £5, and you needn't even bother plugging it in, if you are PXing it.

Unless you've told them you have a fancy DD unit then if they haven't seen the car, they can't possibly 1) know about the DD unit or 2) have factored it into the PX price.
Throw in a replacement head unit that can be had for peanuts. |
I will have a very nice single din Sony cd/mp3 head unit for sale in the next few days,it has usb/aux,cage,case for front,i can also supply a single din facia too, stick that in,sell the DD unit..........;)

Why not take the seats out as well ?
..and does it really need doors on ? Get a second hand one and make it complete :} |
Pop down the local scrappy and get one to replace the DD

If they haven't seen the car and you didn't say that there was a nice DoubleDin system in, I can't see that they would have anything to grump about.
Having said that, if it was me, I would probably go to a scrap yard and get a harmony unit and fit it just to fill the gap :D |
When I bought my first 75, I px'ed on the forecourt, and the dealer actually said, to go and remove the head unit, wheel trims, mats and anything else I wanted out of my old car. As it made no difference, as it would only go to auction.
At the time it was a 12 year old orion. with an old sony tape deck!!! But all depends what kind of dealer they are, and their intentions with your car. |
Thanks for the replies all,
Right, would this one work with my wiring? I only ask because I'm not sure if the facelifted models had different wiring? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rover-75-M...item5d50c2337e |
