Auto gearbox problem?

Hello, I have a Rover 75 v6 2.5 automatic gearbox(92000 km). When I go in reverse, there is a clunk .It is the same thing in position D. The speeds go well, maybe the second one is a bit noticeable. Transmission oil has already been changed. Do you have an idea? Thank you.

Have you inspected the lower engine mount?

As above. Mine used to frighten me with the way it went when going from reverse into drive. Big Bang I thought it was a solenoid sticking in the auto box but Lates did some work on my KV6 and changed the lower engine mount, also known as the Teardrop mounting, and everything was sweetness and light again. Get it changed.

Good morning, gentlemen, and thank you for your answers. I was able to check the engine mount from the top of the engine with a flashlight because I have the cover under the engine and it rains a lot here in France.
And I can see that it is damaged, severed.

I will remove the cover under the engine when it is more beautiful. However, I read that to remove the engine mount, you have to lift the engine, it is different from the diesel versions (I have two 75 diesel).
I have a vibration on steering wheel when i accelerate . Maybe du to the engine mount.
Thank you. I’ll let you know.
Have a good day, gentlemen.

I would say that you have found your problem (a common fault).

No need to lift the engine.
Remove the undertray & release the mount at each end.
You'll probably have to wriggle it about a bit & rock the engine a little to get everything to line up but that's all.

When fitting the lower engine mount, no mater if the engine is petrol or diesel, manual or Auto make sure it's in neutral gear.

Otherwise you will have trouble lining up the mount with the bracket, with the 2.5 petrol & 2.0 petrol you will have to push then engine forward a little to remove the mount as the exhaust sensor gets in the way of the large bolt.

The diesel is more straight forward and slides out easy.

Isn't there a heat shield (on the V6) to remove too, before you can see it? Will the engine self support whilst you remove the mount bolts, or do you need to support it underneath?:shrug:I have one to do with my V6 2.0 at some point.

Yes i believe there is a small heat shield to remove to get to the mount also, the engine supports its self on the two top engine mounts, the lower engine mount is a tie bar really.

Hello, gentlemen. I did an automatic gearbox oil change today. I also checked the engine mount: it is completely cut in half. Can you tell me where I could find an original part?
I’ll check the solenoids tomorrow.
Thanks for your help.
Greetings from France.
