Hello from new 75 owner (and a tip re Trip PC)

Greetings from fr NE of Scotland and a new Rover 75 owner (2003 Connoisseur Tourer CDTi auto) just 2 days in and absolutely loving these cars! Such comfort and huge amounts of room inside. Even my daughter was quite impressed after giving her lift home! It is a bit lower than my previous car (Renault Scenic) so driving up and down our farm track is a slow and careful process!

Anyway, despite having "all the bells and whistles" as described by the garage selling it, the trip computer wasnt working, neither does the reversing sensors. Having just used the excellent guide here to stripping down the indicator stalk, I found the brown wire loose inside and proceeded to fix. All is now fine and dandy and the trip computer now works great. However, the guide mentioned using 'brute force' to remove the indicator top. After putting it back together, I noticed that there are 2 tiny clips either side of the white switch top, which if carefully prised open, it may make removing the top part much easier! Just thought this may help someone with same problem! Just to find reversing module and try to fix that now! :)

Great way to start on the forum by offering up a useful tip!

Most of us spend the first 100 posts asking for (and getting lots of) help :}

Oh, and welcome btw.

Do you get a beep when you engage reverse? If so, it will probably be the sensor wiring connections or an individual sensor fault. The bumper removal is straight forward and the sensor mountings just push outwards after pushing the side clips in. Plenty of spares on members spares or ebay.

I had same problem with reverse sensor, if you do not have "beep" with lights left on,it may be the beeper itself as mine was.
And welcome to the font of knowledge otherwise known as The Forum.
