pollen filter fitting

Hi all
do you have to remove the scuttle panel completly to fit the pollen filter and does the ecu have to be removed also ? having a marinabrian remap done on the 26th may and was wondering if i can get it done at same time if the ecu has to be removed ect if you get what i mean regards jondonwar

Personally, i would fit it at the same time as the ECU is removed.

would be easier to do it then as brian will have the scuttle panel off and if youre really nice to him he would proberlly fit the new one as well ;)

Does Brian need to remove the scuttle panel for a remap? My 135 remap was done via the OBD socket.

Brian removes the ECU and remaps it off the car, he plugs the T4 in to run a full diagnostic.

I find the pollen filter very fiddly to do, so if the ECU is coming off the car then use opportunity to do then, it will be a doddle!:)

With the diesel's ECU out, the pollen filter is easily maneuvered into position by entering it into the plenum at a 45 degree angle away from you. When it's in there, rotate it back to vertical and enter the lower lugs into the slots. This can be made easier by first cutting more off the corners of the lugs. The lower screen panel only needs removing part way across, say three poppers only. This is enough to allow you to withdraw the water shield.

In the diesel I find changing the pollen filter is a total pain requiring me to practically pull the ECU out (I use the carbon loaded filters which are less bendy)

so get it done while its out being remapped!
