I remember while clutch replacement there is one of the four screws a bit tricky to release . you need a ring spaner 13 from Under or battery tray side ? http://rovermg1.free.fr/rovermg/thum...sqA3GfSNSy.jpg Good luck Mike |

Hi,
Not very bad job,i changed rack to my other car in a summer. I didnt touch exhaust, but lowered subframe from left side(mine is LHD car) Like FrenchMike wrotes, one of screws is not easiest but if you disconnect hydraulic hose first, then its not too bad. Trickies was to remove steering-shaft from rack. Regards Jussi |
Well got stuck in about 5, with dinner in between spent about 2 1/2 hours so far...
Rack cam loose easy enough and managed to get to the problem bolt easily through the N/S wheel arch... I have dropped the front of the exhaust and loosened the sub frame on one side ready to go again in the morning... got to take Jnr to rugby so I hope to be done mid afternoon... |
Rack change completed, all looseness now gone...
I think next time round I could probably do it in about 3-3 1/2 hours... I did end up dropping the exhaust and the subframe apart from the NS front corner £50 for an alignment and she feels much better and I now know she's spot on for the missus... |
Congrats !:D
