What length wheel bolts??

Several of mine are rounded, and the tyre place had to batter an undersized socket onto one of them to get it off - even then it took him quite a while.

I'm thinking about replacing all of them, but the sets on eBay seem to vary widely in length (20-55m FFS ), even though all specified for Rover 75.

I've found that at least two of mine are different lengths too:

Is there a "correct" or even optimum length for these?

Thanks :D

Hi Roger
Drop Andy (trikey) a Pm i think he may have some new old stock ones and he will sort you out the right size.

PS get a wire brush on the thread of all the rest to clean them out;) bottom one in your pic looks like it's been cross threaded at sometime.

Yeah fortunately that one's never been fitted to my car - it's one from the collection that my mechanic had. Guess he didn't notice - he's usually pretty careful.

It was educational watching the guy in the tyre place getting the top one off - long period of machine-gunning with the air wrench thingy, then hammered a socket (I assume a slightly smaller Imperial one or something) onto it, then the breaker bar, and it came off eventually

If that bottom bolt has been in your hub, i would run a tap down the holes, it looks to have pulled the thread to me!

Cheers Andy, but no, that's just one of the spares he gave me. Doesn't look great, does it

I've been thinking about replacing mine. I'd like to get rid of the locking ones and the heads on the normal ones are corroded.
Mine look to be 25mm, like the top one in your photo (2004 Con SE with fork alloys)
Thinking about these but not sure who I trust on eBay!

I bought a replacement set of wheel bolts from DMGRS a while ago,
part number was RRH100140 - they were genuine MG Rover parts, fitted my ZT-T with Hairpins perfectly (also replaced the locking wheel bolts on the 75 tourer at the same time).
Hope that helps, Paul.
