Thanks. I also read the thread about doing it with toaf. Is it still possible, or was the function lost in more current software versions?

Use a T4 for it to be done properly. Toaf will get it funtional, but it won't code it all properly.

how so? functional sounds good?

You'll have to go through and manually set specific options to try and get it working correctly. The BCU controls all the body electrics so needs to be set up correctly. I've seen a few cars that have had a BCU and other parts "coded" with toaf, and 90% of the time they still need a T4 to start behaving correctly.
