Failed LCD on instrument cluster
Hi.
I've managed to get a new instrument cluster for my 75, as the LCD has failed on the old one. Does it need to be programmed with a T4 or can another system be used? Regards, Gary. |
when you say failed, could you explain a bit more?
Have you got the right cluster for your car, mind you I don't know if it makes a different if you mix petrol and diesel clusters. Does you indicator stalk have a button on the end ? macafee2 |
The LCD has become illegible. Yes the computer symbol is on the end of the stalk and I've checked with Xpart (where I've bought the cluster) and it's the correct one

Should be plug and play.---

If you are replacing the IPK (full instrument cluster) it will require programming to the car, T4 or possibly TOAF, don't know enough about TOAF to say.

Yes, you seem to be about forty five minutes away from me. Would you be able to fit and programme the new cluster for me? When these restrictions are lifted, I could arrange to get the car over to you.

If it is just the LCD then I think it is just a case of taking the cluster apart, removing the old LCD and Soldering in the new one. If it is the Whole instrument pack then it will need to be programmed for the car Via a T4 or an EXPERT with TOAF |
A YAC003790LNF is what you should have bought, and yes it needs really to be configured using T4.
You can copy the VIN and ZCS coding from the EWS and the mileage from the LSM using TOAF, but it doesn't complete the entire coding sequence. Do not fit the unit until the point before it is about to be configured, as if the mileage exceeds 60miles it will not be possible to reconfigure using T4 ;) Brian :D |
