Hi-line retrofit

Hi,
i am retrofitting Hiline navigation to my 2001 Tourer Connoisseur.
I have been collecting parts one by one and now i get wiring loom to my hands.
Would be nice to get some information where harness is located in car originally. Is it going under floormats in a middle,or is it routed near r/h sill?

Regards

Have a read of this.

If you have a tourer loom then the GPS aerial is a sharks fin [located in the roof]. The saloon loom has a GPS aerial located under the parcel shelf.

You can fit a saloon loom to a tourer and locate the GPS aerial near the offside load window and it will work fine.

Thank you Dave,
There was a lot useful information.I have been reading trough many older posts about fitting Hiline, but i still dont have idea where exactly harness should be,if i want to go like "factory fit" route.
And i am fitting Tourer harness to Tourer.
Also i would like to know exact location for shark fin aerial hole.

regards
Jussi

If you drop down the rear part of the roof lining you can see where the hole has to be drilled.

This picture shows the sharks fin aerial.

You have to remove the trim [marked with arrows] and take the loom over the rear offside wheel arch, under the rear seat and then beneath the offside floor trim, behind the seat belt anchor point and behind the trim holding the bonnet release button, then to behind the center consol.

Just bought a complete Hi-line from MGStephen and wondering about where to fit the sharkfin aerial. I assumed it was mounted externally, although I've never seen one. I don't want to drill holes in the roof of my tourer: Dave's posts states "located in the roof", does this imply it's between the steel skin and the headlining?

What other aerial options might there be? (The aerial is needed for GPS location for the satnav)

Ive fitted a fin on mine, drilled a hole without much drama but equally the saloon one works well on the inside sitting on the trim by the 6th window

did mine by measuring between the roof rails to find the middle.then mounted back enough so it was not fouled by the tailgate.btw the hole itself needs to be square so the boss on the fin fits flush. get your self a decent file.enjoy:}

From memory there are some measurements somewhere
