Straights
Has anyone replaced the centre badges on their straights with the same badge? Mine are not only corroded but dented and damaged too. I've seen replacement badges on ebay but they're customised and I like the originals.
Any advice gratefully received. Thank you :) |
Is it just the badge that is suffering or the whole centre cap?

If it's just the badges to replace they can be cooked off in the oven on a low heat. Then stick on the new ones.

Thanks guys. Jordan it is just the badges, the centre caps are fine. I appreciate the advice on removing the old caps, but I still want to replace them with the same badge but not wrecked!

You can find out which wheels share the same centre caps and look for them to get the whole thing, unless you go the aftermarket look :) I like some of them but van see why you wouldn't want to, if they are the same size as 11 spokes suffolk boy had a few :)

11's totally different ;)

The Rimmer's wheel centres are plastic (mine are alloy) and it would cost around £50 plus to get four plastic caps just for the centres! SWMBO really likes the original MGR ones...

Went through this myself already.
http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ad.php?t=81004 Tried one company abroad, but they didn't look good at all IMO. There is a company round the corner from me that do resin badges. I approached them about doing these. They were very helpful, but the initial set up costs are more than I can manage on my own. http://www.storm-graphics.co.uk/ |
