Couple of noises: deceleration & suspension

Happy New Year to all. One of my New Year's resolutions is to sort out a couple of noises. I've booked my 75 in the BMW garage tomorrow, but thought I'd get a first opinion from some of the knowledgeable folks on this forum.

1. When I blip the accelerator to over 3000rpm & let the revs fall I can hear a popping sound. I suspect it maybe related to the exhaust system.

2. About three months ago my left front wheel almost came off due mysteriously to lose bolts.
Since then the tyre wear has become uneven & there is a clang sound over pot holes & certain bumps.

I've asked for a wheel alignment & to sort out what making the sounds.

A search on .org yielded the following info. on suspension noises.

Quote:

Noises from the front suspension are mainly limited to wear in the lower arms - which may be the bushes and not the arms - the strut bearings and very occasionally the anti-roll bar bushes (rare though). These will manifest themselves as a hollow knock when travelling over a bump at low speed (arms or bushes) or a slight thud when turning the wheel from dead ahead when at rest (strut bearing).

Apart from those the front end is pretty robust.
