Summer Solstice Rally 21st June
 

This is a young show, that is in its 5th year usually held on midsummer’s day in the Tollgate Gillingham & Shaftesbury Showground. 3pm to 10pm.

Now this is a rally that needs a lot of support to survive. It is being run (Past 4 years) on virtually no budget relying on the goodwill of those attending and some sponsors (Not many).
They are trying to raise the interest levels by including Cash Prize lottery draws throughout the day together with a Raffle - (Raffle Prize Donations urgently wanted).

There will be an auto jumble with pitches at only £5.

But above all it is FREE entry, although it is expected that a generous number of raffle tickets are bought.

The showing is aimed at vehicles pre 1985 including Tractors, Buses and Commercials, although when I asked Brian regarding later Rover cars he is open minded at the moment. So it is worth a punt if enough of you go along and show some support.

They are hoping to sell some advertising space in the way of putting up company banners around the show for a nominal fee. They are hoping for a band or three to help with other entertainment and of course the usual catering facilities.

They are also fundraising for the STARS Appeal (Salisbury & District Hospitals but to date their payments to them have been very low, as the most of the receipts from the show are gobbled up by the cost of running the show. (Rent on the field, insurances etc.,)

SO please circulate the information. They need the publicity, there are some attractive flyers available. Please help as this is a great little show, very friendly and doesn’t clash with a host of other weekend shows. That’s got to be a bonus.
