Spares or repair*****SOLD

I have an MG ZT-T 190 - 2004 in Firefrost. I wanted to keep it on the road but I've taken on too many and things are getting on top me a bit.

It would be a shame to scrap it, but realistically it's going to cost a fair bit of time and money to get her back on the road.

Brief summary based on my opinions only.

Cambelts well over due.
Clutch needs replacing as it's very stiff.
Engine cooling system had been filled with a quick fix additive.

So if you're still interested I'll go on a bit more. :D

I flushed the cooling system several times when I had her on the road last, and in my opinion traced the issue to a faulty oil cooler, as once this was bypassed the oil quickly cleared up. A brand new oil cooler is currently sat in the front of this car along with some brand new genuine cooling pipes.

My concern is that the engine temperature didn't seem to behave as it should. It would take quite a while to heat up, then when at idle the temperature would just continue to rise. I did not let it overheat but it did get up to 108.

Again in my opinion there is either a blockage in the radiator or the water pump is not operating as it should due the quick fix rubbish. I haven't investigated this any further.

The body work is in quite good condition but this is a matter of opinion so would need to be seen by any interested party.

Roof lining is coming down at the back.

It is what it is. A project. Mileage is just under 140K I think.

Probably not of interest but thought I'd ask before sending it for scrap.

Scrap value currently sits around £400 so that's my asking price excluding new parts purchased that haven't yet been fitted.

Please note, the fuel gauge is not working correctly. There isn't £60 of fuel in it. Sorry.

Headlights are quite cloudy. Water is making them look better than they are.

This was collected my a new forum member this morning who is looking to recommission. A perfect transaction from my point of view. I hope all goes well for him and hope to see this back on the road where it belongs.

All the best.

Ben.
