Audible aftermarket reversing sensors for Tourer?
I want to get a set of aftermarket reversing sensors fitted to my CDT Tourer. I've seen some recommended on here before, but how audible are they? I was just speaking about this with a guy who I'm hoping might do the work for me (along with various other things which need doing) and his experience with aftermarket sensors is in a large diesel estate is that you can hardly hear them.
So are there some that are more audible than others? Or is there a good place to locate the sounder (which doesn't involved masses of work taking up carpets, etc.)? |
If you dont fancy wires everywhere what about something like this:

Hmm, I wonder how effective the wireless is? I'd be interested to hear from someone who's tried one of these. It would be convenient to be able to locate the buzzer somewhere better, like under the dash.

I fitted a set in a LWB shogun some years back. Installed the audible unit in a cubby hole under the second row of seats, never had a problem hearing the beeps.

I fitted the LCD display and buzzer on mine in the rear brake light (on a saloon), and it's even audible outside the car :)

Put mine on the rear view mirror  http://i1007.photobucket.com/albums/...5/CIMG0488.jpg

Suzublu, what model is that you have? Is the buzzer in the LCD unit?
|
Assuming it's the same type as mine the buzzer is in the same unit as the LCD.

So is that wireless, or do you have to connect a wire from the back? Looks suspiciously like a wire in the picture there.
In all honesty, I'm not at all concerned about the LCD display, I just want the buzzer, but I want to be able to hear it. Maybe there's somewhere easy to get a wire to where it's perfectly audible from anyway? |
