Hi all,

Does anyone have difficulty with dogs as I'm thinking about bringing our 6 month old Guide Dog puppy, Quizzie, along.

It'll be good for her training but I'll leave her at home if someone would be uncomfortable with her around.

See you later.

Andy.

Took me 2.5 hours to get home as the M42 was shut north bound due to a crashed UPS lorry....spent over an hour with the engine off surrounded by trucks....

Got home just before midnight, thank god the aircon has been topped up!!

Nice to meet you Andy/Margaret and the lovely Quizzie

Great location, shame about the service!

Steve42 27th July 2018 21:00

Not a good trip back then Tim.
Your not wrong about the service was not up to the normal for some reason. My be time to move on again.

chris65 27th July 2018 23:01

AndyN01 28th July 2018 03:08

Lovely to see you all.

Sorry to hear about your journey, Tim . I now know why my sat nav was re-routing us M69 and A5 ;).

It was only my second visit & Marg's first. Service seemed not quite switched on for some reason?

We can always give it another go and see if it was a hiccup or if it's time to start searching.

Looking forward to the next one.

Take care all.

Andy, Marg & Quizzie

Keep me posted boys, would love to come.

starbug2 2nd December 2018 08:58

maybe next years i can join you . but for now things not going well

Steve42 2nd December 2018 18:43

Hi all,

Just off the phone with the oak .
Was looking at the 12th or the 13th .
Unfortunately to do any of the dates for 1930 is a no.
But can do 1845 .
Also the same rules apply as previous years. If haveing the Christmas meal will need to be booked in advance and 5 pounds deposit
So befour I book can you get there for 1845.
And you will need to decide what food you require.
Or I can try and get us in this week.
Sounds as if the 12th and the 13th will be mad as two booking on each night will be 50 people each one so it will be rammed in the oak.

Steve42 2nd December 2018 18:52

Starbug ,

Have been watching your posts on face book.
Thoughts with you and Bev .
Let's hope he will soon be out of hospital.
Allways next time round. Family first young man.

Steve

AndyN01 3rd December 2018 07:07

Don't fancy the idea of a rammed pub. All too manic and not good for a relaxing meal with good banter.

Already busy with stuff all this week so can't make one then.

How about an alternative late Xmas, Happy New Year meal in January?

Andy.

Steve

well times are not great but i hope soon things can start to return to normal .. but alas not for bevs dad it is a one way trip for him and will never leave hospital except to go to his grave .... it is a matter of when not IF sadly .. but at least he is in a local to hinckley hospital so better for his family etc to visit etc . given aslo about the time both my parents passed away rather bring it all back for me .. but life goes on well best we can and my 75 is still very much in use just not as often at rover things sadly , i did manage to do the club 75 trip to germany and to kent in the last few years but getting harder to do stuff like that as bev has her own health issues which effect traveling very much in resent times .. we have managed to do many MG things in the MGF and 3 when we can and i miss the old 75 crowd i used to see and i hope in 2019 we can do more stuff , we did the 75 national meet recently . it would be nice to eet up with the local lot again as once they did at the windmill place which has had issues . the new place i think is harder for me to make given my work and uncertain times of getting home .. i hope that soon i can make a meet but either way may we all have better times ahead and our 75s and ZTs will continue ...

Steve42 3rd December 2018 16:48

Andy ,
I understand about the crowd. It's not going to be nice.
Wating for the others to get back to me.to see what they would like to do.

Steve42 3rd December 2018 16:54

Steve,
Problem is every year we get older.and that means family around us get older and start haveing health issues.
The amount of meets and shows we have missed this year is crazy. Only got to one this year.
Again looking after family, haveing to go to Germany to see close famly, weddings it all takes up time .
All you can do is your best a keep smiling.

Gunner RA 3rd December 2018 18:36

We wouldn't need the xmas meal but would like to have a run over and have a drink and meet up again. I'll keep an eye open for the final date.

Steve42 3rd December 2018 18:52

No problem.
Long time since we last got together

chris65 4th December 2018 13:32

Hi,Steve, makes no difference to us as we're only 10 minutes from the oak and times don't matter for us oaps lol,but maybe after Xmas will be better for everyone, lives and pub not so busy?

timspencer 6th December 2018 12:04

Count me in guys, black beauty is in winter hibernation and out of MOT, the blue mover is road worthy but depending on the weather I may use a modern MG.
